AI Visibility Tools Compared

Eight AI visibility platforms compared on the four things buyers actually ask: which engines they monitor, whether they track more than citations, what they publicly charge, and who each vendor says the product is for. Every claim links to the vendor's own page. Where a price is not published, we say so.

How to read this table

We only state what a vendor publishes about itself, and we link to the exact page. No cell contains an estimate. Two vendors — Peec AI and Semrush — publish pricing pages whose figures did not render for us, so their price cells say "not verified" instead of carrying a number we could not stand behind. That is a limitation of our check, not a criticism of the product.

What none of these tools currently measure well

This is the honest part. The products above are good at what they claim; the gaps below are shared across the category rather than faults of any one vendor, and we make no negative claim about a named product that we cannot source.

  • Recommendation as a distinct outcome. Several vendors measure mentions, citations, sentiment and share of voice. Scoring whether an answer actually names your brand as the option to choose — and separating that from merely being used as a source — is a different measurement, and it is the one that maps to pipeline. See how we score it.
  • Prompt-universe quality. Every platform inherits the prompt list you give it. None of them can tell you whether that list reflects how your buyers actually ask, which is the single biggest determinant of whether the numbers mean anything.
  • Causal diagnosis. Dashboards show that a competitor is winning a prompt. Explaining why — a missing third-party source, an entity the engine has conflated, an unquotable page, a rendering problem — is still analyst work.
  • Answer volatility. AI answers vary between runs and between users. Sampling methodology matters enormously and is rarely published in enough detail to compare products like for like.

Where a consultancy sits alongside these

We are not a platform and we do not sell one. Our engagements include measurement against a locked prompt universe, and if you already own one of the tools above we will work from your data. The trade-offs between buying software and buying help are laid out in consultancy vs. tool, and our own numbers are on the pricing page — audits from $3,500 and engagements from $6,000 per month.
