Zero-Click Search

A zero-click search is a query resolved on the results page or inside an AI answer, so the user never visits a website. The information still comes from published sources, which means the commercial question shifts from how much traffic a page earns to how often it is the source being read.

In plain terms

The buyer got their answer and never landed on your site. You can still have won — if the answer named you.

Why it matters for B2B

Zero-click behaviour breaks the assumption that sessions measure demand. Brands that keep reporting only on clicks will under-invest in exactly the content that is shaping shortlists.

How to apply it

  • Report AI visibility alongside traffic, not instead of it.
  • Put brand-defining facts in the answer itself so the mention carries value without a click.
  • Give buyers a reason to click anyway: data, tools, pricing, depth.
