AI Search Visibility
AI search visibility is how often, and how favourably, AI engines mention, cite and recommend a brand across a defined set of buyer prompts. It is measured against a fixed prompt list run repeatedly across engines, so movement over time reflects your position rather than a change in the questions asked.
In plain terms
It is a survey, not a rank. You ask the same questions of the same engines every month and count what comes back about you and about your competitors.
Why it matters for B2B
Without a locked prompt set, every report is measuring something slightly different and no trend can be trusted. A stable baseline is what turns AI visibility from an anecdote into a number a board can act on.
How to apply it
- Lock a prompt set that reflects real buying questions, then leave it alone.
- Run every prompt across each engine that matters to your pipeline.
- Record three separate things: mention, citation and recommendation.
- Benchmark against named competitors, not against the category average.
